Fixed-Term GL Accountant

Contract:6-month FTC Start:Aug 2026 End:Jan 2027 Location:Limerick/Hybrid/Remote Reports to:Group Accounting Manager

Purpose of the Role

A dedicated resource to deliver a Group restructuring accounting project, alongside supporting FY25 statutory audits and the FRS 102 revenue and lease implementation projects.

Key Accountabilities Restructuring Accounting Project

• Prepare, review and validate trial balances
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and schedules
• Post journals, allocations and technical accounting adjustments
• Prepare audit-ready documentation and evidence
• Support transition accounting and close-out of project workstreams
• Support FY25 statutory and FY26 Group Audit queries relating to the restructuring project
• Own assigned GL reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items

Audit & GL Support Documentation & Handover

• Maintain clear workpapers aligned with Group policies
• Ensure clean handover of residual activities at contract end

Candidate Profile

• Newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent), ideally from practice
• Strong audit/statutory reporting background and grounding in FRS 102
• Strong Excel; interest in Power BI, automation or AI tools an advantage
• Detail-oriented self-starter, comfortable working at pace
• Transaction or technical accounting exposure a plus

• Clean, audit-ready TBs, reconciliations and schedules
• Strong documentation enabling seamless handover
