GCSE/KS3 Tutor/KS2 Tutor - Alternative Provision

Restart Tuition Limited is a Yeovil-based education provider delivering GCSE Maths and English tuition through small groups and one-to-one sessions. All of our tutors are qualified teachers, and many hold current or recent GCSE examiner roles. We are expanding our Alternative Provision (AP) offer across Somerset, working in partnership with local authorities and schools to support learners placed outside mainstream education.

The role

We are recruiting employed tutors to deliver face-to-face AP sessions across Somerset, with a particular focus on Taunton, Yeovil and Minehead. You will work with learners who may have experienced disruption to their education and who need a calm, consistent, and supportive adult alongside them.

Sessions are confirmed one week in advance. Once a session is booked by a local authority or school, you are paid in full even if the learner does not attend, provided you were available and ready to deliver.

What we're looking for

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching or tutoring Maths and/or English at GCSE or KS3 level
• Enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to apply
• Strong safeguarding awareness
• Based in Somerset, ideally within easy reach of Taunton

Experience in Alternative Provision, PRUs, or with learners with SEMH needs is desirable, as is current or recent GCSE examiner experience.

Pay and contract

£35.00 per hour, inclusive of rolled-up holiday pay. Paid monthly by bank transfer. Zero-hours employed contract; term-time working.
