Salary: £48,226 - £51,356 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week

The Role

Stoke on Trent City Councils Repairs and Maintenance Service are looking for a Gas Manager to join the team, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant and effect delivery of gas services across the service.

You will be responsible for managing the gas section within the Repairs and Maintenance service to cover compliance and repairs for approximately 17,500 domestic and 600 public buildings.

You'll manage resources, maintain accurate records, provide technical expertise, drive process improvements, and carry out inspections, while staying up to date with emerging regulations and supporting emergency responses when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary duty holder for 'Gas Safe' registration, working closely with the certification body to ensure full compliance
  • Oversee the delivery of gas services and projects, ensuring statutory compliance, adherence to specifications including health and safety, site security and financial controls
  • Deliver all work in line with legislation, RMS standards, reporting requirements, risk management processes, financial regulations and corporate governance expectations
  • Maintain records, ensuring they are accurate and up to date including gas certifications, Gas Safe audits, SHE inspections
  • Carry out inspections of gas installations, repair and maintenance works
About You
  • Hold a relevant qualification at NVQ level 4 or equivalent with significant experience of managing gas services
  • Hold a current CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme qualification
  • Experience of working within a 'Gas Safe' management position
  • Have a good understanding of workplace health and safety legislation including COSHH, IEE, CDM and Building Regulations
  • Experience in managing social housing projects, refurbishment, public building and commercial premises gas services
