Gas Engineer/ Plumber

Andy File Associates is pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable Facilities Management company based in Rotherham, England. They are currently seeking a skilled Contract Gas Engineer or Plumber to join their team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals to contribute to a well-established organisation, providing essential services within the facilities management sector. The position is on a contract basis, offering £200.00 per day (paid by our client on submission of an invoice to them) along with a fuel card to assist with travel expenses. Our client operates as a Ltd company with a close-knit team of 1-10 employees, ensuring a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out gas and plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance across various sites in accordance with company standards and health & safety regulations.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify potential issues with gas systems or plumbing infrastructure to prevent future problems.
• Ensure all works are completed efficiently and to a high standard, adhering to relevant codes of practice and legislation.
• Participate in emergency call-outs and provide prompt response to urgent repair needs.
• Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including reports, completion certificates, and service logs.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to deliver excellent service and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new gas or plumbing systems where required.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or Plumber, preferably within a facilities management or similar environment.
• Valid trade qualifications and certifications relevant to gas and plumbing work.
• Good knowledge of gas and plumbing systems, with the ability to carry out related repairs and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations pertinent to gas and plumbing work.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and good problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
• Full driving licence and willingness to utilise the fuel card for work travel.
