Gas Engineer

Due to continued successful growth, we have an excellent opportunity to join our Fortem team working permanently for our contract with Orbit Housing group as a Gas Engineer.

Role Overview

The Gas Engineer will be responsible for planned property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties within a patch covering Stratford Upon Avon and surrounding areas. Travel is essential.

Core hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. The role involves ensuring all work is completed to a high standard with minimal supervision, taking ownership of tasks, and operating within health and safety guidelines, budget, and time constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out fault diagnosis and communicate additional works to supervisors.
• Aim for first-time fixes within budget and time parameters.
• Perform planned repairs, maintenance, servicing, renewal, or refurbishment works.
• Record and submit accurate data using business systems.
• Ensure excellent customer service and proper coordination with other trades.
• Manage materials procurement efficiently.
• Comply with safeguarding and H&S policies.
• Use a PDA smartphone to update progress daily.

Requirements

• GAS Safe Registration: CCN1, CEN1, HTR1, MET1, WAT1, CKR1, CPA1.
• Full UK driving license (max 5 points).
• Desirable: CSCS HAPS Test, CSCS Skills card, C&G or NVQ in Heating Engineering/Plumbing, social housing experience.
