MR PORTER is part of LuxExperience, the leading digital, multi-brand luxury group.MR PORTER are now seeking a full time experienced knit and jersey garment technologist to join Mr Porters Private label -Mr P. The role will see into the Technical Manager and will work closely within a small team of Product developers, Designers and Merchandisers. This role will be suited to an experienced garment technologist with expertise in knit and jersey fit and construction. They will need to be confident in leading fit sessions and taking responsibility of their product categories from development stages into production.The role requires someone who is organised, pro active and a problem solver. Support sustainable development of the collection in line with the YNAP Infinity Code. Partner with Design to develop initial technical specification packs for proto sampling and use technical expertise to improve margin from concept through sealing. Prepare and lead fit sessions (measuring, inspecting, updating fit trackers), suggesting fit and construction improvements aligned with brand standards and margin. Issue clear, timely technical comments; liaise with suppliers to ensure understanding and standards are maintained; review and action grading for production. Oversee production approvals (including shipment samples), respond to AQL reports, support QC, conduct factory visits where possible, and manage care labelling. Proactively resolve quality and fit issues, monitor in-season returns to reduce repeat problems and markdown risk, ensure critical path adherence (updating CP trackers), and organise/archive development samples end of season. The type of person we are looking for: Experienced Garment Technologist with a strong background in mid- to high-end businesses. In-depth knowledge of knit and jersey construction, able to recommend solutions and construction methods for premium production. Strong understanding of garment and chemical testing, with the ability to review sustainability certifications and respond accordingly. Basic pattern-making skills; confident fitting garments and issuing amendment comments without a physical pattern. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment with the ability to manage changing priorities. Team player who is also self-motivated and proactive.
