University Hospitals Dorset is seeking a self motivated, friendly, and approachable Fundraising Clerical Assistant to join the Charity Team within the Finance and Business Intelligence Directorate.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised individual who enjoys working in a supportive team environment and contributing to charitable initiatives.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Be computer literate with a high level of attention to detail
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A positive attitude and the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, supporters, and stakeholders are essential for this role.

The post is cross site working and will be based at both Bournemouth Hospital and Poole Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant should have experience in working in an office environment and possess excellent organisational skills and be able to be pro active in developing their knowledge. They must be able to work within a team as well as unsupervised.

Above all they must be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail together with the ability to multitask in a busy environment.

UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service specific questions at interview.

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.

Person specification
  • Admin Experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Experience of using databases
  • Computer literate - knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Written and verbal communication
  • Works well under pressure and good time management
  • Work within a hospital charity or NHS
  • Knowledge of charity legislation and the Fundraising regulator codes of practice
  • Ability to motivate, encourage and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders
