Description:

This mission focuses on supervising the construction and rollout of FTTH (Fiber to the Home) networks in the Brussels region. The project aims to accelerate high-speed fiber deployment while ensuring compliance with Belgian technical and regulatory standards. As a Construction Supervisor, you will be the operational linchpin on the ground, ensuring quality, safety, and planning adherence during the entire fiber rollout lifecycle. The role bridges technical execution and on-site coordination, with a strong emphasis on civil works, permitting compliance, and team management.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Supervise daily FTTH construction activities, including trenching, ducting, splicing, and customer connection.
• Act as the primary on-site point of contact between subcontractors, engineering teams, and municipalities.
• Coordinate with permitting platforms like GIPOD, Geopunt, and Eaglebe to ensure civil works meet legal and regulatory standards.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with SB250 standards and health & safety regulations.
• Perform daily site inspections and audits to ensure quality, safety, and progress targets.
• Provide on-site leadership to subcontractors, offering guidance, enforcing timelines, and resolving field-level issues.
• Collaborate with internal project teams to update documentation, maps, and as-built plans using tools like ArcGIS or QGIS.
• Report weekly on progress, risks, and milestones to the project coordination team.
• Help train new field teams or subcontractors on construction protocols and fiber standards.

Requirements for the Candidate

Must-Have Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in fiber network deployment, particularly FTTH civil works supervision.
• Deep understanding of fiber architecture, including P2P, GPON, trenching methods, and customer drops.
• Proven experience with Belgium's infrastructure permitting systems: GIPOD, Geopunt, Eaglebe.
• Solid knowledge of SB250 (Standaardbestek 250)
• specifications and Belgian public infrastructure regulations.
• Proficient in ArcGIS or QGIS for map layer analysis, data management, and documentation.
• Fluent in Dutch and professional working proficiency in English.
• Ability to read and interpret telecom construction drawings and fiber schematics.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience managing third-party subcontractors and field teams.
• Familiarity with big data tools for tracking and reporting project KPIs.
• Previous work with utility mapping, city planning teams, or telecom infrastructure audits.
