We are seeking a skilled and proactive Power BI Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimise Chaucer's Power BI environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our business intelligence operations across the organisation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making, enhance reporting capabilities, and maintain governance standards.

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Power BI Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimise Chaucer's Power BI environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our business intelligence operations across the organisation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making, enhance reporting capabilities, and maintain governance standards.
Your Key Responsibilities: Platform Administration
- Manage Power BI tenant settings, policies, and Premium capacities.
- Monitor usage, performance, and capacity; troubleshoot issues and optimise resources.
- Configure and maintain data gateways for on-premises connectivity.
- Administer licensing, workspace creation, and user permissions.
- Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and other tools.
- Enforce data governance and compliance policies.
- Maintain role-based access control via Entra ID groups and conditional access.
- Oversee workspace security, semantic model access, and report distribution protocols.
- Work with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users.
- Coordinate with the M365 team for license allocation and updates.
- Support the Analytics team in developing, enhancing, and deploying reports.
- Schedule refreshes and manage deployment pipelines.
- Ensure data accuracy and reliability across dashboards and semantic models.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Power BI administration or related analytics roles.
- Strong understanding of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, and SQL.
- Experience with data modelling, ETL processes, and dashboard UX best practices.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Fabric administration.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across Agile, BAU, and project environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- PowerBI Governance Framework
- PowerBI vendor and stakeholder management
- Experience with Snowflake, Tableau, and other BI tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of Specialty Insurance domain is advantageous.
- You are detail-oriented, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
