FS Tax Manager

Our client is a leading global advisory business, who are currently looking for experienced Tax Managers and Consultants for their London business. These roles can be based anywhere in the UK, remote and hybrid working is offered.

The Opportunity

This business focusses on advising the Wealth and Asset Management sector, and includes specialists who work across multiple alternative asset classes including hedge funds, private equity funds, credit funds and real estate. The client base includes market-leading UK-based businesses, US inbounds and well-established UK, European and global asset managers. There is an ambitious growth target across all alternative asset classes over the next few years, and as a result there are a number of opportunities for exceptional candidates.

Responsibilities

• Manage the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding tax advisory projects across a range of matters including fund tax, international tax, UK corporation tax, UK income tax, capital gains tax, and other tax matters relevant to the Wealth and Asset Management sector.
• Aligned to a portfolio of long-term accounts, which you can build deep relationships with, and become their trusted advisor.
• Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff.
• Role in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and also through managing staff development and assignments.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients.
• Proactive business development to win new work.
• Interaction with other offices both in the UK and overseas.
• Contact with HM Revenue & Customs and other third parties, including major financial institutions, lawyers and wealth advisory businesses.

Applicants must have the following:

• Must hold right to work status for the UK - sponsorship is not offered
• ACA / CTA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification
• Track record of providing tax advice to asset management clients and their funds, including on international tax matters.
• Familiarity with the alternative asset management and/or private assets industry,
• Strong tax technical skills
• Initiative, professionalism and confidence
• Experience of coaching and developing junior staff
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• The ability to motivate a team; manage, mentor and train junior staff and work with people from across the business
• Asset Management tax advisory experience within an accounting firm or law firm
