Front of House Team Member (Barista, Service & Cocktails)

Reports to: Front of House Supervisor / Founder

Location: Central London (Mayfair)

Type: Fixed-term Contract - 6 months (with the possibility of a permanent role)

Salary: £13 - £14 per hour + bonus scheme (based on performance and customer satisfaction)

About the Restaurant

Our client is reopening a long-established, family-run restaurant in the heart of Mayfair following nearly two decades under the same ownership. The relaunch brings a renewed vision, a brand-new team, and a strong focus on simple, well-executed food, calm service, and professionalism at every level. The restaurant offers a Lebanese-inspired tapas menu in a relaxed café-style setting, featuring a Parisian-style terrace and a high-profile international guest base. The environment values organisation, consistency, and pride in craft over high pressure chaos.

Role Purpose

The Front of House Team Member will be a key part of the reopening team, responsible for delivering confident, professional and attentive service across coffee, bar and floor operations. This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in presentation, detail and guest interaction. You will help build service standards from day one and contribute to a calm, structured and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support in reopening and running daily front of house operations
  • Deliver high-quality coffee using commercial espresso machines
  • Prepare cocktails confidently and consistently
  • Provide professional table service and manage guest interactions
  • Take orders accurately and manage reservations and walk ins where required
  • Pour and serve alcohol responsibly in line with UK licensing laws
  • Support opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation and presentation across the front of house
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow
  • Remain calm, positive and professional during busy periods

Training, Reopening & Progression Opportunity

This is a reopening team and you will be part of establishing front of house standards from day one.

Working Pattern
  • Operating hours: 09:00am - 11:00pm
  • Typical shifts:
    • Opening: 08:30am - 5:00pm
    • Closing: 4:30pm - 11:30pm
    • Double shifts may be available
Candidate Profile Essential Skills & Experience required
  • Experience using commercial espresso machines
  • Experience preparing cocktails confidently and consistently
  • Previous front of house hospitality experience
  • Confidence in waiting tables and taking orders
  • Ability to serve alcohol responsibly
  • Strong presentation and professional appearance
  • Ability to remain calm and positive under pressure
Desirable Skills & Experience required
  • Experience in tourist-focused or high-footfall venues
  • Experience in café-style or tapas environments
Reporting & Team Structure
  • Works closely with Front of House Supervisor and Head Waiter
  • Collaborates with kitchen team to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction

  • Follow agreed systems and service structure established during reopening
