Front End Principal Software Engineer

I am recruiting for a permanent Front End Principal Software Engineer in the Philippines. This is a fully remote position in the Philippines, requiring candidates to reside in the country. The role is hands-on and focused on front-end development. The ideal candidate will spend 70% of their time coding, emphasizing modern front-end technologies such as React and Next.js. They will be instrumental in creating scalable web experiences, paying attention to Core Web Vitals, caching, and BFF models. Collaboration with product, UX, and platform teams, mentoring peers, and influencing technical decisions are key aspects of the role. Experience with Vercel and edge-delivery platforms is advantageous.

Front End Principal Software Engineer Responsibilities include designing and constructing performant, scalable, and maintainable front-end experiences using React, Next.js, and contemporary JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks. The role involves actively coding, owning complex UI features, and implementing modular frontend architectures. Additionally, the candidate will lead the implementation of back-end-for-front-end patterns, efficient data fetching strategies, and seamless client-server interactions.

Advanced caching strategies, performance tuning for high-traffic pages, and optimization of Core Web Vitals are crucial aspects of the role. Collaboration with platform engineers to utilize Vercel capabilities for production-grade deployments is essential. Working closely with UX/Product teams to translate designs accurately is also part of the responsibilities.

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline-or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience, specializing in architecting and constructing modern front-end web applications.
• Expertise in React and Next.js, with a profound understanding of component architecture, state management, and rendering strategies.
• Hands-on experience with back-end-for-front-end solutions and GraphQL/REST APIs.
• Strong performance mindset, optimizing Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, and Lighthouse metrics.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
