Freelance Senior Project Manager Subsea Installation

We are currently looking for a freelance Senior Project Manager with strong experience in subsea installation. In this role, you will take full ownership of a technically complex subsea scope, from early planning and procurement through offshore execution and final delivery.

The client is an established offshore contractor with a strong reputation in marine and subsea infrastructure. The project is part of a larger portfolio in renewable energy and subsea asset development, where precision and safety are key. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary internal teams, experienced vessel crews, and global subcontractors. The working environment is hands-on, pragmatic, and execution-driven, with high standards and strong operational support.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage the full subsea installation project lifecycle, including planning, execution, and handover
• Lead coordination between engineering, procurement, marine operations, and external contractors
• Prepare and manage offshore campaigns, vessel readiness, and installation schedules
• Control project risks, progress, and financial performance
• Ensure alignment with contract requirements, technical standards, and HSE guidelines

Your profile:

• 10+ years of experience in offshore project management, with a focus on subsea installation
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Familiarity with subsea scopes such as pipelines, umbilicals, or subsea structures
• Solid understanding of marine operations and vessel coordination
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus

• Freelance contract for 12 months
• Approx. 60 percent based in the Netherlands, with hybrid work flexibility
