Interim Senior Oracle DBA Administrator

Location: Rotterdam area, Netherlands (on-site / hybrid)

Contract type: Interim / Contract Max Rate $87,50

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle DBA Administrator to reinforce our Database & Infrastructure team on an interim basis. This role involves temporarily backfilling a team member on leave while driving key modernization initiatives across a mission-critical Oracle landscape.

You will play a central role in stabilizing day-to-day operations, deploying a new Oracle Exadata , and upgrading existing Oracle environments. Equally important is structured knowledge transfer to ensure long-term continuity within the internal DBA team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide operational Oracle DBA support, ensuring stability and availability of critical database services
• Plan, deploy, configure, and integrate Oracle Exadata
• Lead modernization and revitalization initiatives, including:
• Upgrade to Oracle Database 23ai
• Implementation of Oracle Multitenancy (CDB/PDB)
• Upgrade of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
• Modernization of DBA tooling, automation, scripts, and best practices
• Assess the current Oracle environment and propose improvements to enhance reliability, performance, and efficiency
• Deliver structured knowledge transfer sessions and clear technical documentation
• Ensure high-quality handover, including documentation and training materials

Your Profile

• Senior-level, hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in complex enterprise environments
• Proven expertise with Oracle Exadata (deployment, configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting)
• Experience with Oracle Cloud and hybrid solutions strongly preferred)
• Strong experience with Oracle Database 19c and 23ai
• Solid knowledge of Oracle Multitenancy , RAC / RAC One Node , and Data Guard
• Good understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers)
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; able to work independently
• Experience with Ansible and/or Git is a plus
