Freelance Mechanical Engineer / North Holland

Job Title: Freelance Mechanical Engineer - Piping Expert

Location: Netherlands

Contract Type: Full-time, 18-month contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, analyze, and optimize piping systems for offshore and marine projects, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

• Develop and review detailed piping layouts, stress analysis, and material selection.

• Support lead engineers in all mechanical aspects related to piping, including pressure testing, system integration, and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

• Provide detailed engineering documentation, including P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), isometrics, and stress analysis reports.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the smooth execution of projects and proper integration of piping systems into the overall design.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of piping design, including stress analysis, material selection, and fabrication techniques.

• Experience with offshore and marine piping systems, including familiarity with relevant codes (ASME, API, etc.).

• Proficiency in piping design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CAESAR II, PDMS).

• Experience with pressure testing, leak testing, and system validation.

• Fluent in English and Dutch.
