Freelance Automation Engineer (Siemens Software)

For an international customer, I am searching for several freelance Automation Engineers to support their critical business activities through the analysis and programming of industrial processes around Siemens software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of automation systems using Siemens TIA Portal, PCS7, WinCC, and Step7 software.
• Develop and implement control strategies for industrial processes in line with project specifications and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing automation systems to improve reliability and performance.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including control system architecture, wiring diagrams, HMI designs, and testing protocols.

Profile

• Education in electrical engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge around Siemens software (TIA Portal, PCS7, WinCC, and Step7).
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols.
• Exposure to industries such as manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, or pharmaceuticals in an automation context is a considerable advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders.
