Freelance Audio-Visual Engineer

Salary: £44,100 - 52,000 per year

Requirements

• We are seeking professional, adaptable AV/VC Engineers with strong customer-facing experience. Ideal candidates will:
• Be available at short notice for UK on-site work
• Be confident working within corporate or financial-sector environments
• Have experience across a broad range of AV, VC, display, and presentation technologies
• Be comfortable working independently or alongside client teams

Responsibilities

• As a freelancer, you will be involved in various tasks depending on your specialization:
• For Service Engineers:
• Quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve AV/VC system issues to minimize downtime at customer sites
• Carry out hardware repairs, part replacements, and system adjustments directly on-site
• Complete clear and detailed service reports, fault logs, and recommendations for follow-up work or preventative maintenance
• For Installation Engineers:
• Install and commission a wide range of AV/IT solutions, including video conferencing systems, displays, digital signage, audio systems, broadcast setups, and control platforms
• Confidently read and interpret schematics, M&E drawings, and cable schedules
• Complete first-fix works including cable pulls, terminations, routing, and labeling, ensuring accurate documentation and progress updates
