About usWe are The Place to Grow for our entire school community.
This is our entire reason for being: what we do and how we do it is driven by our commitment to the view that our school is the place to grow. Long Crendon School is a place where children can grow personally, academically, emotionally and in so many other ways.
Our curriculum enables children to develop skills and nurture a real love of learning.
For staff, we support professional development to ensure that you too can grow at our school.
At Long Crendon School, Forest School is beloved by our children and an essential part of our approach to instilling our values. In 2024, Ofsted said "Pupils say that they 'connect with nature', for example learning to whittle, press apples and working as part of a team during their outdoor learning experiences."
We are seeking someone to take the lead in continuing to develop and deliver our strong Forest School offer. You will lead engaging sessions that promote teamwork, communication and confidence. As much as it is possible, we like to give our Forest School Leader the autonomy to plan and deliver sessions to allow them to best meet the needs of all pupils.
We can offer you:
- Opportunities for further development
- A positive, friendly and supportive team
- Ongoing training for your role
- A strong and positive leadership team
- A supportive and engaged parent community
Forest School will be your domain: we are looking for someone who is prepared to prepare, plan, resource and maintain Forest School and the Forest School area, with the support of the wider school team.
You will be able to work independently, manage your own time and further develop our strong Forest School offer. Your behaviour management will be strong and you have experience of working with children, ideally within a school setting.
You either need to hold a Forest School Level 3 qualification, or be prepared to undertake this within your first year in post.
It's really important that you are prepared to work in all weathers - we like to get outside!
We are looking for someone who is:
- Able to model and encourage our vision, values and ethos
- Passionate about outdoor learning and Forest School
- A team player
- Flexible and adaptable
- Able to motivate and inspire children from Reception to Year 6
- Able to adapt to meet the needs of all children, including those with SEND and those with different levels of confidence and ability
- Able to inspire others - children, parents, staff and the wider community - and create enthusiasm around Forest School.
