Main duties of the jobResponsibilities include:
- Forensic sampling, including road traffic offence bloods.
- Signposting, referrals, supporting vulnerabilities, and helping patients break re-offending patterns.
- Delivering substance misuse therapies.
- Assessment and care of detainees and staff in custody suites.
- Promoting good personal healthcare.
- Collaborating with Liaison and Diversion to identify mental health needs.

Job responsibilitiesThis role is suitable for RGN or qualified Paramedics with 3+ years' post-qualification experience. Custody environments are dynamic; detainees can be held up to 24 hours, requiring high-quality care for various needs, from dependency issues to medical emergencies. No prior forensic experience is necessary, as training will be provided to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner. The role offers a 2-on-6-off rota, providing excellent work-life balance, with shifts including day and night shifts. This is a part-time position based at Salfords Police Custody Suite. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the advert may close early if filled.

Person Specification Qualifications- Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic
- Full UK Driving License
- At least 3 years' post-qualification experience
- Experience in A&E, walk-in centres, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, or as a Paramedic Practitioner is advantageous
This role requires a DBS check due to the nature of the work, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
