Food Service Assistant

Job Overview

Food Service Assistant Grade Band 2, permanent contract, 22 hour per week, part time, flexible working. Position based at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester. Bank Food Service Assistants may be called in on an as needed basis.

Main duties of the job

• Interact directly with patients to take meal orders and serve hot and cold meals and beverages.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the environment to a high standard and complete HACCP documentation.
• Adhere to COSHH and food safety procedures.
• Operate equipment including iPads, Regen hot meal trolleys and beverage carts.
• Perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, bending and lifting while on the feet.
• Communicate effectively with ward staff, patients, and relatives to ensure food and beverage requirements are met.
• Read and understand written and verbal instructions and complete HACCP records accurately.
• Take direction from catering team leaders and senior staff and ensure daily orders are communicated timely.

Person specification General

• Previous experience in a care environment (hospital or care home).

Experience

• Previous catering experience.
