Food Service Assistant
Location: St Leonards CE Primary, Linley Rd, Broad Blunsdon, Swindon, SN26 7AP
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 16 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday
Contract: Term Time Only - 39 weeks, Permanent, Part Time

About the Role: This is a site based role within a welcoming, small primary school, where you'll take responsibility for running the lunchtime service on site.

Meals are freshly prepared off site and delivered daily, and you'll ensure the catering service runs smoothly, with full training and support provided.

You'll be responsible for setting up the service, serving meals to pupils, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen and dining area, and clearing down after service. You'll work independently while maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up the dining area ready for service.
  • Serve meals to pupils in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Receive and prepare delivered meals for service.
  • Clear down and clean the kitchen and dining areas after lunch.
  • Maintain clean, safe and hygienic working areas.
  • Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures.
  • Support stock storage and deliveries where required.
  • Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff and visitors.
  • Ensure the daily catering service runs smoothly while working independently.
  • Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages.

  • Previous catering or food service experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Additional Information
  • Term Time Only.
  • Equated Pay - This role works 39 weeks per year. Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
