• 37.5 hours per week
• 3 Months Fixed Term Contract
• 5 days out of 7 Monday to Sunday. Variety of 8 hour shifts patterns. Earliest start is 6:30am and latest finish 11:00pm

Job Introduction

We are looking for a dedicated and friendly Cook Food Service Assistant to join our team at TFL, Upminster, RM14 2TD. This is a cover role and you will need to be flexible to work at a number of different TFL locations.

You'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of efficient and high-quality food services. Creating a positive experience for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverages
• Deliver a friendly, polite, and efficient service to customers and clients
• Operate tills, ensuring accurate pricing, handling floats, and cashing up when required
• Cooking of basic food items when required (such as bacon, sausage, eggs) and following recipe cards (eg follow a recipe card to cook lasagne)
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all front-of-house areas, including service counters
• Ensure all display fridges, counters, and food areas are fully stocked, labelled, and well presented
• Support food service and wash-up areas as required
• Set up and deliver food and beverages for hospitality services when needed
• Assist with promotional activities to increase sales and customer engagement
• Handle customer queries or complaints professionally, escalating where necessary
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to maintain a positive working environment

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a catering or customer service role is desirable
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A positive, proactive attitude with a focus on customer service
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Confident to Cook basic food items and follow a recipe card
