Job Description

The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality and runs 185 cafés, tea rooms and restaurants across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We're looking for a Food and Beverage Team Member to help make visitors' days memorable.

This location is in a rural area, so please consider how you would commute to work before applying.

Contract type: Zero hour contract - we cannot guarantee a set number of hours each week, but we aim to provide a consistent work pattern and give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and bank holidays but no evening or split shifts.

Contract duration: Fixed term until 22nd April 2027.

Hours / Working pattern: Flexibility is required, with regular weekend work. Additional weekday hours will be offered as needed. Working pattern will be discussed at interview.

Salary: £12.75 per hour.

As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You'll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the café, ensuring they have an enjoyable time. This is a lively business that's constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial.

You'll be keen to understand what people want, to help them and to make recommendations. You'll keep standards of food and drink preparation and presentation high. Using your excellent eye for detail, you'll ensure all displays and signs are accurate and attractive. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with food preparation.

We'll give you an induction that matches the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
