Blue Forge Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading nationally recognised Food Service FMCG company, who operate an extensive network of stores and Cash & Carry's across Ireland. Fresh food and customer service is a core pillar of their business and a key differentiator within their business model.

This company is a leading household name brand, currently looking to hire an experienced Site Manager to run one of their best performing Cash & Carry sites in the midlands, to replace an existing manager who held the position for more than 15 years.

Ideal location for candidates applying: This site is within driving distance of Tipperary, Carlow, Kildare, and Tullamore Co Offaly.

This is an exciting role for a senior FMCG Operations Manager to run a high turnover logistic and Cash & Carry site, and lead a complex and dynamic FMCG offering that services walk in and a large network of direct customers in the midlands and Southeast region.

As Site Manager, you will have great autonomy to execute and lead a team of 50+, with the support of an experienced management team, including a Logistic manager, Operations Manager and Team Leaders.

The role is primarily Monday to Friday, standard business hours, so ideal for someone looking to transition from big box Retail Operations.

We are ideally seeking a corporate retailer from big box food, within a senior management role, particularly focused on fresh foods and P&L is a must. Or equally another Manager from a large cash & carry environment who holds a senior management role and has key decision making and accountability for budgets and P&L.

Job for life, a step across to wholesale retailing or a step on the corporate rung of the ladder are just some of the key stand out for this job.

Reporting to the Regional Manager the purpose of this role is to manage the Cash & Carry operation and achieve budget while ensuring the branch operates in a professional, compliant and profitable manner.

Package
  • Salary €80,000 - 90,000 DOE
  • Bonus 19%
  • Phone and Laptop provided
  • Monday - Friday primarily with an occasional late evening shift and a half day Saturday.
  • 40-hour contract
Responsibilities
  • Achieve customer service level targets as outlined by the company.
  • Drive branch margin and profitability performance.
  • Maximise sales opportunities within the branch.
  • Ensure stock management policies and objectives are implemented effectively.
  • Maintain branch marketing activities in line with company policy to support sales growth.
  • Control and manage branch overhead costs effectively.
  • Monitor and manage debtor accounts efficiently.
  • Maintain effective cash handling procedures in accordance with company guidelines.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated background within the grocery wholesaler sector and licensed retail trade or a senior retail big box management background will be considered but must have an extensive and proven trek record achieving KPI's, including margin control and pricing.
  • Strong ability to balance strategic direction with day-to-day operational management and team leadership of more than 40 colleagues across a number of large departments.
  • Proven track record in maintaining and expanding customer accounts while generating new business opportunities.
  • Ability to work effectively alongside the sales function to deliver key business objectives and targets.
  • Target oriented professional with excellent organisational, planning, and delivery capabilities.
  • Conduct business with professionalism and integrity, fostering strong and lasting client relationships.
  • Confident leadership style with a focus on operational efficiency and commercial success.
  • Self motivated individual who can take ownership of responsibilities and work independently when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels.
  • Commercially aware and analytical in approach, with the capability to identify challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong understanding of financial performance measures, including responsibility for margins, profitability, and branch outcomes.
