Job Description
FLOATING VEHICLE TECHNICIAN

Location: Covering Blackpool, Southport, Morecambe & Kendal
Salary: OTE £30,000 - £50,000 (Basic Salary Dependent on Experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm 40 Hours Per Week Saturday Morning Rota (Paid at Time and a Half)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

THE ROLE

As a Floating Vehicle Technician, you'll provide technical support across multiple dealership workshops, carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance to the highest manufacturer standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repair work on a range of vehicles
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults accurately
  • Completing repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
  • Conducting vehicle road tests where required
  • Ensuring all work complies with manufacturer and health & safety standards
  • Accurately completing workshop documentation and job cards
  • Handling vehicle parts correctly and maintaining workshop standards
  • Supporting different dealership teams while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Travelling between dealership locations across the North West as required
ABOUT YOU

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician within the automotive industry
  • Strong servicing, maintenance, and diagnostic skills
  • EV/Hybrid qualification desirable but not essential
  • MOT Tester Licence desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to travel between dealership sites
  • A positive, flexible, and team-focused attitude
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence
