General Assistant - Education & Healthcare Settings (DBS Required)

Location: Tonbridge

Pay Rate: From £12.71 - £14.71 per hour (dependent on experience and client placement)

About the Role

Berkeley Scott, one of the UK's leading hospitality recruitment agencies, is seeking reliable and hardworking General Assistants to support a variety of clients across the Education and Healthcare sectors in Tonbridge.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with basic food preparation and service
• Supporting kitchen and catering teams with daily operations
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Washing up and ensuring kitchen and service areas are clean and organised
• Setting up and clearing dining/service areas
• Assisting with stock rotation and basic storage tasks
• Adhering to all food safety and health & safety regulations
• Working efficiently during busy service periods

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday (weekends typically off)
• Shifts available between:
• Start times: 7am - 9:00am
• Finish times: 2:00pm - 4:30pm

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child Workforce) - essential
• Right to work in the UK
• Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or cleaning role preferred
• Level 1 or 2 Food Safety Certificate (desirable)
• Experience in schools, care homes, or contract catering advantageous
• Strong reliability, organisation, and timekeeping
• Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
