Fixed Term Salaried GP

The Panton Practice is seeking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team on a 12-month fixed term contract from August 2026, to provide maternity leave cover.
This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking for 5 to 6 sessions per week within a well-established and forward-thinking practice committed to delivering high quality patient care.
Sessions available The post will include:2 sessions on a Thursday2 sessions on a FridayThe remaining 1 to 2 sessions can be worked on a Monday and/or Tuesday.

About you We are looking for a doctor who is:
- GMC registered and licensed to practise
- Included on the NHS Performers List
- Committed to providing high quality general practice care
- A good team player with excellent communication skills
- Organised, reliable and patient-centred in approach
The postholder will provide a full range of general practice services, including routine and urgent consultations, assessment and management of acute and chronic medical conditions, home visits where required, prescribing, clinical administration, and appropriate referral and follow-up of patients. The role will involve working collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care, while maintaining accurate clinical records and supporting the day-to-day clinical needs of the practice.
Job responsibilitiesTo provide high quality general medical services as part of the GP team at The Panton Practice, including the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients presenting with acute and chronic conditions, prescribing, referrals, clinical administration, and home visits where required. The postholder will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and responsive care for the practice population.
Qualifications- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Fully registered with the GMC and licensed to practise
- Included on the NHS Performers List
- MRCGP or equivalent experience
- Experience of working in UK general practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to high quality, patient-centred care
- Good clinical decision-making and organisational skills
- Competent IT and clinical record-keeping skills
- Flexible and reliable approach to work
- Previous experience in a salaried GP role
- Experience of managing a broad range of acute and chronic conditions in primary care
- Understanding of current NHS general practice priorities and workload
- Experience of working with SystmOne
- Interest in teaching, training or service development
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
