Job DescriptionThe Fixed Term Contract Privacy Counsel will be part of the Group Legal Function and will:
- Provide expert advice on privacy and data protection laws within the FMCG /retail / consumer goods industry.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations across the organisation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate data protection agreements and related documentation.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and manage data subject requests effectively.
- Deliver training and support to employees regarding privacy policies and compliance requirements.
- Monitor regulatory developments and implement necessary changes to policies and practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address privacy concerns in business processes.
- Provide input on data privacy risks during organisational projects and initiatives.
A successful Fixed Term Contract Privacy Counsel should be/have:
- a qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
- Experience in a consumer brand would be an advantage.
- c3+ PQE
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and other relevant privacy regulations.
- Experience in the FMCG industry or a related sector.
- Proven ability to draft and negotiate legal documents related to data protection.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
The Fixed Term Contract Privacy Counsel will receive:
- Competitive salary up to £85,000
- Performance bonus of 10% based on agreed company objectives.
- 25 days of holiday allowance
