You'll lead on expanding and optimising existing technologies, integrating toolsets, and driving efficiency across our platforms. Acting as a key point of expertise, you'll take ownership of project-related activities and play a critical role in safeguarding our services while enabling innovation.This is your chance to influence the future of banking technology and make a real impact in a fast-evolving environment.As part of this role, you'll share the responsibility of successfully protecting the 1 in 3 people who use our systems in the UK as well as our 10 million active online banking users. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that project and internally initiated service improvement activities are appropriately led through to a successful conclusion, as we continually improve our offering to become the Best bank for Customers. This will involve working with and leading a team of dedicated colleagues, developing them and building their capabilities. In addition, you'll demonstrate an ability and desire to engage with programmes and initiatives throughout the project lifecycle, delivering their requirements. This will include acting to prioritise and resolve issues within the team.Your accountabilities will include; Acting as the key contact point for business engagement for this bank critical infrastructure. Planning the implementation of complexed changes. Delivering changes of all sizes for our customers. Delivery of infrastructure and service improvement plans, including gateway upgrades and new builds. Prioritisation, handling expectations and the ability to guide and influence business decisions. Short, medium and long term resource planning along with recruitment of both full time and contractor resourcing.You'll be accountable for day-to-day team management, ideally a networking/firewall SME with experience of allocating work to and coordinating technical specialists. Additionally, you'll have an understanding of networking, firewall and security principles and design concepts.You'll have experience working to develop long term goals and will act as a key point of contact for resources in the team for their project activity. This may involve identifying, collating, and understanding detailed information on project scope, feasibility, technical accuracy and compliance.Whilst not essential to have previously worked in Financial Services, having knowledge of regulated environments and an understanding of automation tools (Python, Power Automate, Robot Framework, Ansible, Terraform) would be favourable.
