Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Safety Advisor to join the team, primarily based at University Hospital Crosshouse, with responsibility for delivering fire safety support across NHS Ayrshire & Arran. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Hours and Shift Pattern

37 per week (8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 1.00pm Friday), subject to review.

Responsibilities

In this role your main duties will be to provide a comprehensive Fire Safety service ensuring all Health Board premises are environmentally safe from the risk of fire for all staff, patients and visitors. Your main duties will be to ensure the continuous development of a culture of Fire Safety Awareness within NHS Ayrshire & Arran at all levels.

Qualifications

Having gained extensive experience in this field, you will be proficient/qualified in the following fields:
Relevant qualification in Fire Safety or knowledge and experience gained through prior Fire & Rescue Service employment.
Proven experience in practical application of Fire Safety.
Competent to undertake audits and complete Fire Risk Assessments.
Ability to identify Fire Safety failures of management, building structures or installations and remedial action to rectify.
Proven experience in conducting Fire Safety Training.
Knowledge of Fire Safety Legislation, Scottish Health Technical Memorandums (SHTM's) and Approved Codes of Practice (ACoPs).
Experience within a hospital environment would be an advantage.

UK Driving Licence

Full UK Driving Licence is essential for this post.
