Job Description

Location: London/South East/South West/Midlands/North West

Job Description

Client:

A multi award-winning team of engineers, environmental designers, and sustainability consultants committed to creating a regenerative future. Their projects aim to positively impact community health and the planet, focusing on high-performance sustainable design and development.

Their services include world-class building engineering design, analytics, and consulting, with a specialization in net-zero first thinking. Employee development is prioritized through peer mentoring, soft skills training, a bespoke CPD program, and an individual development plan supported by a generous training budget.

Location:

The company adopts a hybrid working policy. While their new HQ above Chancery Lane offers an excellent working environment, they are also recruiting engineers across the UK, particularly in the South East, South West, Midlands, and North West regions.

The Oxford office is a smaller, close-knit multidisciplinary team. For other regions, remote working with hot desk facilities at sister company offices is available temporarily as they expand their regional presence.

Role:

The fire engineering team is expanding, with vacancies from engineer to associate level. The roles offer potential for career progression and development. Projects span residential, commercial, heritage, science & technology, and education sectors.

This is a great opportunity for both experienced professionals and those starting their careers to grow and collaborate with their global network of offices.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

You will advise clients on fire strategy, requiring detailed knowledge of UK building codes, standards, and regulations. This enables autonomous project delivery and team collaboration.

Your tasks will include CFD modelling, reviewing and annotating design plans, zone modelling, producing fire strategy documents, and presenting findings to clients. Your work will influence decision-making and design to ensure safety and compliance.

While a Fire Safety or Fire Engineering degree from universities like Lancashire, Edinburgh, or Ulster is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Practical experience of a couple of years delivering fire safety advice to UK clients is more important. Further education support is available if desired.

Benefits include a competitive salary, wellbeing benefits, an Employee Assistance Programme, hybrid working, and flexible hours to promote work-life balance.
