Financial Risk Specialist

Our client is seeking aFinancial Risk Specialist to join their Risk Function, supporting the company's continued growth and development. This role offers strong exposure to senior stakeholders and key business functions, including Actuarial, Finance, Pricing, and Product.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the ongoing development and embedding of the Risk Management Framework
• Monitor financial risk exposures (market, credit, liquidity, and insurance) against risk appetite
• Assist in the preparation of the ORSA, including scenario development and solvency/liquidity projections
• Contribute to regular risk reporting, including CRO reporting and risk MI oversight
• Support Recovery Planning and related documentation
• Review and challenge actuarial and finance assumptions and methodologies
• Provide oversight of investments, reinsurance, and capital management activities
• Conduct risk reviews and deep dives across key risk areas
• Perform horizon scanning to identify emerging risks and regulatory developments

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years' experience, ideally within a Life Insurance, Investments, or Capital Management environment
• Understanding of key financial risks impacting life insurers
• Experience within a Risk or Actuarial function is advantageous
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• Excellent communication and report writing ability
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to challenge and influence
