Job Description

Rev & Regs are seeking a Financial Crime Compliance Risk Assessment Manager to work for a dynamic and well-respected investment and wealth management firm in London.

The Financial Crime Compliance Risk Assessment Manager will lead the development, enhancement, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the firm's Financial Crime Risk Assessment Framework, ensuring that it delivers a comprehensive, data-driven and risk-based assessment of the firm's exposure to Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, Proliferation Financing, Sanctions, Bribery & Corruption, Tax Evasion Facilitation, Fraud and other applicable financial crime risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the review and enhancement of the firm's Business-Wide Financial Crime Risk Assessment methodology.
  • Assess and refine risk categories, risk factors, scoring models, weightings and risk indicators.
  • Ensure the methodology provides a balanced assessment using both quantitative and qualitative measures.
  • Maintain alignment with regulatory expectations, industry guidance and emerging financial crime threats.
  • Work collaboratively with First, Second and Third Line teams to gather input, challenge assumptions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive financial crime risk and controls framework.
  • Identify, assess and document inherent financial crime risks across customers, products, services, transactions, jurisdictions and delivery channels.
  • Support the assessment and reporting of residual risk and identification of control enhancement opportunities.
  • Design and implement quality assurance and effectiveness testing processes for the risk assessment framework.
  • Support regulatory reviews, audits and independent assurance activities.
  • Ensure frameworks, methodologies and supporting documentation remain current and appropriately governed.
  • Engage with external advisers and industry bodies to identify evolving regulatory expectations and best practice.
  • Facilitate workshops and provide expert advice on financial crime risk assessment matters.

Experience:

  • Significant experience within Financial Crime Compliance, AML, Risk or Regulatory Compliance is essential.
  • Experience developing or enhancing Business-Wide Risk Assessments or financial crime risk methodologies is essential.
  • Experience within Wealth Management, Private Banking, Asset Management or Trust Services is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of AML, CTF, sanctions and broader financial crime risks.
  • Experience assessing control effectiveness and developing risk-based frameworks.
  • Experience designing risk scoring, weighting or risk quantification methodologies.
  • Experience developing risk and control libraries and governance frameworks.
  • Professional qualification such as ICA, CISI, IRM or equivalent financial crime or risk management certification is desirable.

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000

Location: Hybrid (2 days per week in London office)
