The Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Crime Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will investigate and analyse financial crimes, including money laundering, fraud, and tax evasion. You will work closely with customers, compliance functions, and various stakeholders to identify, prevent, and report financial crime risks and suspicious activities. If you have a strong understanding of financial crime patterns, regulatory frameworks, and possess excellent analytical skills, this is a great opportunity to play a key role in safeguarding against financial crime.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and investigate fraud cases and alerts, working with the second line to diminish losses and where possible, recover funds.
  • Undertake all investigations, review documentation, and complete any relevant customer interactions in relation to all types of fraud, including authorised push payments, account takeover, identity fraud and fraudulent debit card transactions.
  • Produce or contribute to a range of internal and external reports regarding fraud and other statistical information including REP017, monthly MI, APACS, VISA and debit card usage.
  • Working with 2LoD Financial Crime, analyse information from reports, identifying trends/issues and provide recommendations for any actions required.
  • Manage and resolve end-to-end investigation (alerts, cases, reviews) in a timely manner.
  • Draft and submit Internal Suspicious Activity Reports to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) as necessary.
  • Dealing with general enquiries from the business on fraud matters
  • Facilitate requests for information by liaising with clients or relationship mangers.
  • Draft and maintain the Banks fraud procedures with changes escalated and approved through the appropriate stakeholders and governance.
  • Provide cover for transaction monitoring and customer screening alerts where required and assist with any ad-hoc projects.
  • Maintain a current understanding of Sanctions, AML and terrorist financing issues including policies, procedures, industry best practice and common red flags.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • One year's experience in Financial Crime sector.
  • Attention to detail, complete work tasks with thoroughness, accuracy and consistency.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Ability to identify suspicious activity.
  • Excellent investigation skills.

Desirable knowledge & Experience:

  • ICA qualification in Anti Money Laundering (AML), CDD and Financial Crime Prevention.
  • Experience and background as an Alert/AML Investigator, with knowledge of financial crime typologies and trend.
