The Opportunity

We're looking for a Financial Controller who can take complete ownership of our financial operations and be a strategic partner to our leadership team. You'll build robust financial systems, ensure audit-ready books, and provide the insights that drive our growth strategy.

This isn't just managing numbers-you'll be the architect of our financial foundation, creating the systems and controls that enable us to scale with confidence.

What You'll Own

Complete Financial Ownership

• Own the entire accounting function end-to-end using QuickBooks
• Produce accurate monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Establish and maintain financial controls and policies
• Ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions (US, UK, EU)
• Manage complex revenue recognition across DTC, Amazon, and wholesale channels
• Oversee inventory accounting and COGS calculation for our product business
• Prepare audit-ready financials and liaise with external accountants/auditors

Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead weekly cash flow forecasting to support rapid scaling decisions
• Conduct profitability analysis by channel, product, and customer segment
• Build financial models for new product launches and market expansion
• Track and optimize omni-channel margins and unit economics
• Develop KPIs and dashboards that drive business decisions
• Provide monthly executive presentations with actionable insights

International Operations Management

• Manage multi-currency transactions and FX exposure
• Navigate VAT/sales tax compliance across US, UK, and EU markets
• Oversee supplier payment terms and inventory financing arrangements
• Work with Chinese manufacturing partners on pricing and payment structures

Leadership & Team Building

• Build the finance function as we scale toward 8 figures
• Manage relationships with lenders, investors, and financial partners
• Support vendor negotiations and contract review
• Collaborate with COO on strategic initiatives and EOS implementation
• Eventually recruit and manage finance team members as needed

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
• 5+ years progressive finance experience, ideally with Controller-level responsibilities
• E-commerce & inventory expertise - deep understanding of COGS in product businesses
• Multi-channel marketplace experience - Amazon, Shopify, wholesale accounting
• International operations - multi-currency, cross-border compliance, VAT/sales tax
• Cash vs accrual accounting mastery - critical for our business model
• QuickBooks advanced proficiency (or ability to master it quickly)

Highly Desirable:

• Experience scaling businesses from $5M-$20M revenue
• Background with high-growth consumer brands
• Understanding of inventory financing (Wayflyer, supplier credit, etc.)
• Experience with distributed/remote teams across multiple time zones
• Financial modeling and forecasting expertise
• Experience implementing financial systems and ERP platforms
