Financial Controller

Financial Controller £70,000p/a - £80,000p/a based in London(hybrid working)

Our client is a growing business in the leisure sector who is looking for someone to join and lead the day to day finance function in this newly created role.

The right person will be ideally ACA,ACCA or CIMA newly qualified and looking for a role where they have the ability to progress.

The role will offer hybrid and benefits.

Cashflow & Performance Management

• Own short- and medium-term cashflow forecasting
• Monitor liquidity, working capital, and seasonality impacts
• Prepare budget vs actual analysis and investigate variances
• Support tour-level, destination-level, and product margin analysis

Compliance, Tax & Statutory

• Oversee UK VAT returns (including partial exemption where applicable)
• Manage intercompany accounting and balances (UK / Singapore)
• Act as the primary finance contact for external auditors
• Prepare and maintain audit-ready financial records, schedules, and supporting documentation
• Coordinate audit requests and ensure timely resolution of queries
• Liaise with external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors
• Support preparation of statutory accounts and group reporting

Controls, Governance & Payments

• Act as final approver for supplier invoices
• Release payments in line with defined approval thresholds
• Maintain strong segregation of duties across the finance function
• Ensure finance processes are robust, documented, and scalable
• Protect the business from financial, operational, and fraud risk

Leadership & Team Oversight

• Review, challenge, and support outputs from the Finance Manager
• Provide oversight and direction to the Accounts Payable function
• Support development of finance systems, processes, and controls
• Act as the senior technical accounting authority within the business

• Finance Manager (operational execution)
• Operations and Product teams (commercial clarity and performance)
• External advisors (audit, tax, banking)

Candidate Profile

Essential

• ACA / ACCA qualified
• Proven experience producing management accounts end-to-end
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition, accruals, and deferred income
• Experience working with external auditors and preparing financial records for audit purposes
• Strong SME or group finance background
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, commercially focused environment
