Financial Controller

Job Title: Financial Project Controller

We're partnering with a well-established construction business who are looking to double in size over the next 5 years and are looking to recruit a Project Controller who will play a key role in connecting project execution with financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial administration of projects - ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Support project managers with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Monitor project performance and identify deviations early, enabling corrective action.
• Ensure a smooth connection between project administration and core finance.
• Validate actuals vs. budget, analyze variances, and challenge assumptions where needed.
• Deliver regular project dashboards and reporting for internal stakeholders.
• Maintain project provisions and perform periodic work-in-progress valuations.
• Track invoicing and ensure its complete and timely.
• Ensure clean project status tracking and timely closure of outstanding items in the ERP system.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis for directors and management.

What we're looking for:

• HBO-level education in Finance, Business Economics, Business Administration, or similar.
• 3+ years of experience in a financial/project control role within a project-based organization (e.g. engineering, IT services, consultancy, etc.).
• Strong analytical mindset and advanced Excel skills.
• Comfortable with ERP systems (ideally with project functionalities).
• A proactive communicator who sees the bigger picture and spots opportunities to improve.
• Someone who can relationship building skills and tailor communication style to different stakeholders.
