Our client is currently seeking an experienced and commercially-minded Financial Controller to join their team in Castlebar. This is a key leadership role that will contribute directly to financial strategy, performance, and decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, and tax compliance across company entities
• Prepare and analyse accurate financial reports, forecasts, and statements
• Advise senior management on financial results and key business decisions
• Oversee transactional finance, contracts, margin analysis, and internal reporting
• Drive strategic business planning with data-led insights and recommendations
• Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring strong controls and accountability
• Manage intercompany transactions, payroll, cash flow, and working capital
• Optimise financial systems and implement improved processes and efficiencies
• Maintain and enhance corporate governance, risk management, and internal controls
• Provide expert financial guidance on company-wide initiatives and decisions

Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA)
• Proven experience in a senior financial role, ideally as a Financial Controller
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
• Strong technical knowledge in financial strategy, compliance, and reporting
• Ability to work hands-on with day-to-day financial duties while contributing to broader strategic goals
• Proficiency in modern financial technologies and ERP/accounting systems
• Commercial awareness and sound judgment in decision-making
