Robert Half is proud to be working with a well-known business based just north of Thirsk to recruit a Financial Accountant to join their growing finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and highly regarded organisation that is continuing to invest in its financial accounting function. Joining a team of five financial accountants, the successful candidate will gain broad exposure across the full financial accounting remit for the UK business, with plenty of opportunity to learn, develop and progress over time.

The business is open to seeing qualified accountants as well as finalists, and this role has a strong track record of welcoming individuals from a small or medium-sized practice background who have gone on to make an immediate impact and build successful careers across the wider finance function.

The Role

As Financial Accountant, you will be involved in a broad range of responsibilities across the UK business, including:

• Month-end and year-end financial accounting activities
• Statutory and financial reporting
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Compliance and controls
• Supporting audit processes
• Working across key areas of the financial accounting cycle
• Collaborating with the wider finance team and broader business
• Contributing to continuous improvement within financial processes and reporting

About You

The ideal candidate will have a strong grounding in financial accounting and be keen to develop their career within a large, well-known business.

You will likely have:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or be at finalist level
• A background in financial accounting, either in industry or from practice
• Experience gained within a small or medium-sized accountancy practice would be highly advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
• The ability to work well within a collaborative team environment
• A desire to learn, develop and progress within a wider finance function
