Job Description
Commercial Financial Accountant

Full time permanent role. Citywest office, Dublin.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Profit & Loss
    • Review gross margin and sales, prepare and report month end accounts.
    • Work closely with the Commercial Team to ensure all commercial agreements are correctly applied and deals are reclaimed accordingly.
    • Support the Commercial/Business Support team on master data issues such as price changes and product set up.
    • Provide support on linking AP & AR queries to ensure accurate information is passed to the commercial team.
    • Continuous process improvement and review of existing controls and processes.
    • Support budgeting and financial planning process.
    • Review and assess controls; work with Process Integration/IT to implement or enhance internal controls.
  • Balance Sheet
    • Prepare and review monthly B/S reconciliations for Pre Wholesale and implement B/S by Profit Centre.
    • Work with relevant business partners (AP, AR, Commercial, IT) to resolve reconciling items in a timely fashion.
    • Ensure B/S accounts and valuations reflect true value in accordance with Group policies.
    • Resolve outstanding issues on monthly balance sheet reconciliations with the Finance team.
    • Act as first contact for external auditors during the annual audit of balance sheet accounts.
    • Reconcile stock accrual and improve controls around consignment stock.
    • Assist Accounts Payable in resolving invoice posting and GR/IR issues.
    • Assist Accounts Receivable and Reclaims in resolving principal debt/recharge issues.
    • Effectively manage Accounts Assistants to ensure appropriate training, monitoring, and development.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required
  • Qualified Accountant with 2-3 years of account experience (SAP experience preferable) and strong commercial acumen.
  • Significant experience in the area of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ability to work with significant volumes of data to investigate and arrive at information based decisions.
  • Self mandated, able to deliver results independently within a short period of time.
  • Experience dealing with 3rd parties to resolve issues identified in reconciliations.
  • Analytical skills to prepare key performance data.
  • Must work effectively under time and delivery pressures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong decision making, problem solving, organising and planning abilities.

Working Arrangement

Based out of one of our offices across the UK, Ireland or Europe with an element of hybrid working. The role requires travel to global sites and is not confined to a 9 to 5 schedule.
