Finance Transformation Project Manager

Hays Accountancy & Finance are working with our client, a large, multi-site organisation undergoing a significant period of transformation and growth. As part of an ambitious finance transformation programme, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Transformation Programme Manager to lead a high-profile change initiative focused on modernising finance operations, systems, and processes.This is a business-critical role offering the opportunity to shape the future of the finance function through technology, automation, process improvement, and organisational change. The programme will include the implementation of a new ERP finance solution and the redesign of finance operating models across the organisation.

Your new role

• Leading the delivery of a large-scale finance transformation programme across multiple business areas.
• Driving the procurement, implementation, and adoption of a new ERP finance system.
• Managing up to 10 concurrent workstreams, ensuring projects remain on schedule and aligned to business objectives.
• Designing and implementing improved finance processes, controls, and ways of working.
• Identifying opportunities to leverage automation, workflow technology, and emerging AI capabilities.
• Establishing programme governance frameworks, risk management processes, and benefits tracking.
• Leading stakeholder engagement across senior leadership teams, operational managers, technical teams, and external suppliers.
• Managing third-party implementation partners and ensuring delivery against agreed milestones.
• Developing and delivering change management, communication, and training strategies to maximise user adoption.
• Embedding a culture of continuous improvement and driving sustainable change across the organisation

What you'll need to succeed

• A degree qualification or significant equivalent experience delivering finance, systems, or business transformation programmes.
• Proven success leading organisation-wide transformation programmes involving multiple stakeholder groups.
• Strong experience delivering ERP or finance systems implementations.
• Experience managing large-scale change programmes with multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
• The ability to work independently, challenge constructively, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience applying automation, workflow tools, or AI-enabled solutions within finance environments would be highly desirable.
