A dynamic international design and distribution company is seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to join its European team. You will serve as the right hand to the Managing Director EMEA and report functionally to the CFO based in New York. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead financial operations across Europe in a creative, fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management

• Lead and support a finance team of three (2 Accounts Receivable, 1 Accounts Payable)
• Foster team development and ensure accurate and timely reporting

Financial Management & Control

• Prepare monthly financial statements and account workpapers for internal review
• Oversee financial and sales controlling in coordination with the Managing Director and Sales Managers
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency
• Supervise monthly bank reconciliations and submit for CFO approval
• Manage reconciliations for accounts receivable, inventory, and other general ledger accounts
• Interface with external auditors and tax authorities (VAT, income tax, wage tax)
• Conduct financial analysis and support ad hoc projects for senior management
• Track and analyze warehouse and transportation expenses
• Assist with year-end inventory procedures and record adjustments
• Manage record retention policies for accounting, banking, and tax files
• Coordinate document management for invoicing and shipping

VAT and Compliance

• Ensure correct VAT tracking by country for vendors and customers
• Monitor royalty payments and coordinate with external accountants on import duties
• Reconcile B2C e-commerce VAT data across systems and bank accounts
• Prepare VAT-related sales and expense reports for external accountants
• Proactively suggest improvements in VAT workflow and reporting

Contracts & Documentation

• Manage contract documentation and ensure timely filing and compliance

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance or Business Economics (Master's preferred)
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in finance or controlling roles
• Experience in international environments, preferably within FMCG or similar industries
• Proven ability to optimize financial processes and implement improvements
• Strong command of both Dutch and English; German is a plus
• Reliable, discreet, and confident in handling sensitive information
• Strong leadership and communication skills
