Finance Manager

Broster Buchanan have been retained to recruit a Finance Manager for a well established privately owned business in Felling, Gateshead.

The company has a record of profitable trading, has strong ethics and values, and a really nice family feel to the workplace. The business is invloved in import/manufacture and distribution, and has a long and proud history.

The recruitment has been driven by a desire to strenthgen and modernise the finance function in the wake of a new system being introduced, a project which is currently ongoing.

Reporting to the Finance Director the successful candidate will play a key role in the finance team being involved in all aspects of both finance and the wider business.

The position would suit a real all rounder, although some exposure to manufacturing and/or distribution would be useful.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to

Monthly reporting and management accounts
Budgeting and forecasting
Product costings
Variance analysis around both income and costs
Ongoing maintenance and developmnet of finance and business systems
Maintenance of accurate finmancial accounting records and associated reconciliations.

After a period of winning the trust of senior management it is envisaged that the person would be able to work from home a day a week, possibly two, but this right will have to be earned and is not on the agenda initially.

Potential canddiates should be team players with a range of experience, and could either be seeking a development role, or a situation that will provide long term stability.

Experience and attitude allied to a pleasant character are more important than qualifications.

It is envisaged that salary will be in the £40,000 to £50,000 range.
