Some Finance Manager roles are about keeping things running.

This one gives you the opportunity to help shape what Finance looks like next.

You'll be joining an established international business at an interesting point of change. Three separate finance functions are being brought together into one more joined-up UK team, creating a genuine opportunity to improve how Finance operates and the value it provides to the wider business.

Reporting directly to a highly supportive Finance Director, you'll take ownership of the core accounting function across a multi-entity environment, lead and develop a small team and play an important role in bringing together different systems, processes and ways of working.

The fundamentals matter, but this role goes well beyond producing a good set of numbers.

They want someone commercially minded who is naturally curious about what sits behind the numbers. Someone who can understand why performance has moved, identify what matters and turn financial information into meaningful insight that helps the business make better decisions.

There is plenty to get involved in.

Systems, reporting, controls, automation and processes are all on the agenda, alongside broader commercial projects and business cases. You'll have the freedom to challenge how things are currently done, simplify processes and help build a Finance function that is more consistent, efficient and commercially focused.

It's also a great development opportunity.

The Finance Director is keen to hire someone ambitious and will be supportive of their development, giving them exposure beyond the traditional Finance Manager remit and the opportunity to become increasingly involved with senior stakeholders and commercial decision-making

As the function develops, there is genuine scope for this person to progress towards a Financial Controller / Head of Finance level role.

The Role:

• Lead and develop a small finance team whilst taking ownership of month end, financial close and accounting across multiple entities
• Own consolidation, intercompany accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and the overall integrity of financial reporting
• Go beyond reporting the numbers - understand the drivers behind performance and provide clear, commercially relevant insight to the Finance Director and wider business
• Strengthen financial controls and help standardise processes and ways of working across the different businesses
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital and broader accounting processes
• Lead year-end activities and coordinate statutory accounts, tax and external audit requirements
• Support budgeting and forecasting, including consolidation across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
• Drive improvements across systems, reporting, automation and finance processes
• Support commercial projects, investment decisions and wider business cases
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders and increasingly use financial insight to challenge, influence and support better decision-making

The Candidate:

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with strong financial accounting and reporting experience
• Commercially astute - able to make sense of the numbers, understand what is driving performance and communicate the story behind them
• Comfortable operating across a multi-entity or international environment
• Strong month-end, balance sheet, consolidation and financial controls experience
• Experience managing, supervising or developing others, with the confidence to lead a small team through change
• Able to demonstrate where you have improved, simplified or standardised finance processes
• Confident communicating with senior stakeholders and able to turn detailed financial information into clear, useful insight
• Systems savvy, hands-on and comfortable working across different systems and data sources
• Naturally curious, proactive and willing to challenge how things are currently done
• Ambitious and looking for a role where you can develop into a broader finance leadership position
