Location: Greater Belfast Area
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 DOE
Hours: Full-Time

Working Arrangement: Office-based (5 days per week during probation, with potential for hybrid working thereafter)

About the Opportunity
Our client is an established and growing business seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead a busy finance function and support continued business growth.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will manage a small finance team while ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, effective cash management and continuous process improvement.

The Role
The Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the finance function, ensuring deadlines are met and financial information is produced accurately and efficiently.
A key aspect of this role is supporting a transactional finance team that processes a high volume of activity, including hundreds of invoices daily and multiple bank reconciliations. The successful candidate will be comfortable answering technical queries, providing guidance to the team and stepping in to support operational tasks when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support a small finance team.
• Oversee all transactional finance activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Ensure effective cash flow, treasury and working capital management.
• Maintain and improve financial controls across the business.
• Oversee credit control activities and support debtor management.
• Manage month-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Ensure timely completion of all statutory and tax-related returns.
• Support external audit processes and liaise with auditors.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
• Produce financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.
• Assist with financial systems development and reporting enhancements.
• Provide support and guidance to the finance team on complex transactions and reconciliations.

Essential Criteria

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance position.
• Strong financial reporting and financial control experience.
• Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high volumes of information accurately.
• Experience managing and developing a finance team.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on approach with willingness to support transactional finance activities when required.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience with ERP or accounting systems implementation.
• Experience using Sage, Power BI or similar reporting tools.
• Experience in a high-volume transactional finance environment.
• Experience managing credit control and cash management functions.
