Job Description

We're looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager to join our Finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract. Key objectives

As the principal finance lead for the Stratford City residential asset, the role serves as a strategic business partner to the Development team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial performance and project costs, while supporting the delivery of accruals and commitment tracking. It includes responsibility for external reporting of the Stratford City loan covenant, involving detailed review and interrogation of operational results and proactive management of debt servicer queries. The role also requires close collaboration with internal Asset Management, Leasing, and Finance teams to produce clear, reliable UK financial and operational results and forecasts that inform strategic decision-making across the business.

What you will be doing

Forecasting & Strategic Planning

Assist with the preparation of Quarterly Forecasts (QFR) for the UK business and related presentations to senior UK and Group management.

Support the 5-Year Business Plan (5YBP) process, including presentation materials for UK and Group Senior Executive teams.

Work with the URW Global Group Planning team to provide UK input into Group forecasts.

Maintain and update forecasting models and presentations.

Analyse forecasts and assess the impact of strategic initiatives and transactions.

Ensure accurate reporting of financial performance for the Stratford residential asset, including variance analysis and collaboration with the Asset Manager to produce reliable forecasts and budgets.

Prepare statutory financial statements and VAT returns, liaising with external auditors and assisting with tax queries as needed.

Prepare financial performance information for Joint Venture reporting, reconciling internal accounts and consolidated asset reports.

Produce and submit quarterly loan covenant reporting packs, including NRI review, variance analysis with Operations Finance, and leading discussions with the Finance Director.

Act as the key point of contact for the Debt Servicer on loan covenant queries and review investor packs prior to issuance.

Prepare half-yearly MD&A reports for investor updates.

Support Group Treasury in bond issues and capital-raising initiatives.

Development & Commitment Tracking

Monitor and reconcile monthly spend for development and predevelopment projects.

Review cost-to-date spend, budgets, forecasts, and contracts with Development Directors to determine quarter-end accruals and committed costs.

Prepare the half-yearly Pipeline Commitment Report and consolidate the non-development Commitment Report.

Residential Asset Oversight

Serve as the key finance contact for all queries related to the Stratford residential asset, including coordination with the outsourced property management provider, internal Asset Manager, and Finance teams.

Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination

Liaise and coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to interrogate and analyse data for UK and Group results reporting.

Take an active role in discussions with senior UK and Group management.

Work with Consolidation & Accounting and Asset Finance teams to ensure alignment of reporting practices and outputs.

Benchmarking & Market Analysis

Prepare regular peer group reviews for listed real estate groups, including detailed comparative analysis of financial and operational statistics.

Other Responsibilities

Weekly rent collection monitoring and reporting to Group.

Provide ad-hoc support and analysis as required.

What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?

Strong Excel and analytical skills (excluding Macros).

Commercial acumen and solid understanding of accounting and reporting principles.

Highly organised, with the ability to multi-task or prioritise workload appropriately.

Attention to detail and the ability to critically evaluate information received.

Experience working with operational stakeholders.

Evidence of effective communication skills.

Able to develop and maintain close working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrable record of improving processes, procedures, and existing operational systems.

SAP and Proliance experience an advantage.
