Mō te Tūranga About the Role
We currently have a unique fixed term opportunity (until the end of 2026) for a highly analytical accounting professional, who is passionate and knowledgeable about Sustainability, to assist BNZ to meet its climate reporting obligations in Australia, as part of the National Australia Bank (NAB) Group.
In this role, you will work across multiple teams within BNZ and its parent entity to support and streamline reporting processes, and support the development, implementation, and integration of Australian sustainability reporting into our systems and processes.
We sat down with our GM Regulatory Reporting, who shared the following about the role:
What are the 5 key tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Conduct a thorough assessment of the integration requirements between Australian and New Zealand climate reporting.
- Manage information across Australian and New Zealand working groups, integrating BNZ reporting into the parent entity's requirements. Ensure accurate and consistent data flow and reporting.
- Create and own a comprehensive project plan integrating Australian climate reporting requirements with BNZ reporting protocols.
- Implement the project plan and establish a robust reporting process to meet future climate reporting requirements. Ensure all systems and processes are in place for accurate and timely reporting. Complete and document annual group climate reporting, ensuring all standards and requirements are met.
- Engage and manage stakeholders effectively. Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational goals.

You will help BNZ meet its climate reporting obligations in New Zealand and Australia, as part of the NAB Group. Support the development, implementation, and integration of sustainability reporting into our systems and processes.

What attributes will make someone successful in this role?
We seek someone who is curious, self-starting, with strong critical thinking skills and enjoys solving problems.
Good knowledge of sustainability, climate change, and the ability to understand environmental policies, frameworks, and standards is essential. Experience with Climate reporting standards in New Zealand & Australia, and relevant international protocols, is preferred.
You should also be an excellent communicator, capable of conveying complex issues simply, and able to build relationships across the Bank to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
