Finance Director / Head of Finance

This Finance Director / Head of Finance role in Berkshire for a multi-sire business takes full responsibility for the finance function.

Description

Strategic Financial Leadership
o Setting and executing a financial strategy in light with business objectives.
o Providing leadership to your finance team and confidence in the numbers presented.
o Establish annual budgets and assist in tracking against them.
o Analyse, identify, and mitigate financial risks for the business.
Commercial Business Partnering
o Partner with the Operations, Finance, and Marketing directors to provide financial analysis and insights.
o Work with senior leadership to identify areas for cost savings and efficiencies.
o Provide financial modelling and scenario planning to the board for short and long-term decision making.
Financial Analysis
o Work on cashflow forecasting, the weekly P&L and the monthly management accounts to assist in strategic decision making for acquisitions, new store openings, and capital investment across the business.
o Work with AI systems and our data platforms to automate delivery of reports, key insights and analysis direct to senior stakeholders.
o Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (balance sheets and monthly management accounts) to adhere to banking covenants.
Governance
o Ensure appropriate controls and procedures are in place to ensure timely monthly reporting and submissions
o Oversee year-end process and audit.
o Ensure compliance with accounting standards and identify efficiency opportunities in the business.
Team supervision
o Lead and develop a finance team of four.
o Create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
o Identify key risks for succession planning.
o Ensure cross-functional collaboration and team integration with the wider head office support and operations teams.

Profile

A successful Finance Director / Head of Finance should have:

• A strong background in accounting and finance, ideally with a relevant professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Experience in financial leadership roles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job Offer

• Salary ranging from £95,000 to £105,000, dependent on the level of experience.
