PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £75,000 - £85,000pa, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. The successful candidate will also receive a London Weighting allowance of £5,441.

OverviewWe are now looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our International News team based in London, as part of News and Current Affairs Finance. You will be working with the UK Operations, Business Operations and Distribution Leaderships teams. This is an eighteen-week fixed-term contract/attachment opportunity to cover paternity leave.
Your key responsibilities and impact- Unifying our core financial information from across the business to ensure strong financial management of our resources - including partnering with, influencing, and bringing together the Planning team, and the Divisional Financial Controller team to leverage key business insights and analysis.
- Bespoke support to our strategic projects, including decision support and investment appraisal, working with Strategy, COO and Media Operations to develop/deliver transformational change, working with the Operations and Distribution teams to mesh together financial and performance data, and undertaking financial analysis to solve business problems and drive efficiency.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- A background in financial analysis and assessment that incorporates an ability to interpret and draw meaning from complex financial data (e.g. a professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- A sense of curiosity to unpick, understand, and share the story told by the financial and other quantitative data
- A demonstrable passion for and knowledge of the BBC, including an understanding of our Group structure and the opportunities and challenges faced by our organisation
- An understanding and appreciation of News the division's activities and the value of the content to the BBC's public purposes.
- An ability to work with non-finance leaders and be pro-active in identifying opportunities for News and the wider BBC be it financial, process or audience impact.
