Finance Business Partner

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid working)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £47,389 - £56,535

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join the finance team at a UK university during a period of continued strategic development.

This role will work closely with senior academic and professional services colleagues, providing high-quality financial insight, challenge and support to Faculties and/or Professional Services areas. You will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, helping to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the University.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as a trusted finance partner to Deans, Heads of School and senior stakeholders

• Leading budgeting, forecasting and medium-term financial planning for your areas

• Producing and interpreting management accounts and financial reports

• Supporting TRAC, FEC and research costing activity where required

• Contributing to business cases, investment appraisals and strategic initiatives

About you:

• Qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) or qualified by experience

• Experience in management accounting or finance business partnering, ideally within the HE or public sector

• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

• Able to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insight
